Thanos Chrysakis
Thanos Chrysakis is a composer, percussionist, and installation-artist. His musical output consists of electronic and instrumental compositions, as well as sound installations/environments.
His music and sound works have appeared on various independent labels, and events in various countries, such as CYNETart - Dresden, BETA:Composition, Sound, Technology and Beyond - Liverpool, Live Algorithms in Music - London, Artpool P60 Gallery - Budapest. His work 'Inscape 5' was amongst the selected works at the International Competition de Musique et d'Art Sonore Electroacoustiques de Bourges 2005 in the category æuvre d'art sonore électroacoustique while 'Nekyomanteion' received a honorary mention at the 7th International Electroacoustic Competition Musica Viva in Lisbon.
Currently among his compositional activities within different mediums, he works on performing and recording projects with musicians such as Dario Bernal Villegas, Sebastian Lexer, Oli Mayne, and others.
His main research interests encompass the notion of space in music and sound, spatiality seeing through the concepts of rhythmanalysis + atmospheres, auditory perception and aural morphogenese.
