The Rangzen Quartet and violinist Christina Fong perform one of Morton Feldman's important late works. Feldman's works of long duration, among his loveliest works, moved away from all conventional ideas of form, placing fragmentary sound gestures -- often repeated again and again -- within unfolding periods of time, with no sense of change or evolution. The composition on this CD is 'Violin And String Quartet' (1985). The performances are by Christina Fong (violin) and the Rangzen Quartet: Karen Krummel (cello), Heather Storeng (viola), Christopher Martin (violin), and Sieu Mahn Phong (violin).
